EVENT
Gateway to Working Life is a low-threshold recruitment event organized annually in January.
At Gateway to Working Life Tampere University of Applied Sciences students get to know and talk to organizations in different fields about the job opportunities they offer.
The event is organized by the student union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Tamko, in cooperation with TAMK's Career Services, subject organizations and clubs .
The event has been organized since 2010 , and over the years it has developed into a three-day multidisciplinary event, where companies and students meet, network and get to discuss jobs and internships as well as thesis opportunities.
The event coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating the event together with Tamko's communications expert.
The trade fair coordinator for each event year is always the vice chairman of Tamko's board from the previous year, as planning, sales and implementation of the event take place from early spring until the end of January.

Interview simulator
Do you have a job interview coming up? Now you have the opportunity to develop your skills for future job interviews. The interview simulator is here again, with a little twist.
Make the jump towards a more confident job search with the help of a new, AI-assisted interview simulator. The simulator provides a realistic job interview-like situation where you are the interviewee and the AI involved acts as a support for the interviewers, creating questions and evaluating your answers in the background. This experience is like a real interview, but it focuses on learning and development.
Come test and work on your job interview skills at TAMK's main campus on 19.-21st January 2026 at the Gateway to Working Life- event. Whether you are looking for a job or looking for more confidence in interview situations, the simulator provides a safe and relaxed way to practice. Registration is open at JobTeaser. CV-photoshoot
Update your CV photo for free with a professional photographer! The CV photoshoot is open on all three event days from 10 to 15. No separate registration is required for the CV photos, it is done first come first serve principle.

The official CV photos at the event are provided by the The Union of Professional Engineers in Finland the photography itself is handled by MALLIKUVA personal and corporate photography.

Additional Programme for ICT Fields
Alongside the Portti työelämään-event, extra programme has been organised for ICT students in the form of company presentations. The programme includes company introductions, information about potential internship opportunities, and a look into the companies’ roles within the industry.
The participating companies are HION Digital, Tietoevry, Reaktor, Futurice, and Nokia. You can find the schedule for the presentations below!

Winter Mayhem
Winter Mayhem is an event where you can enjoy warm seasonal Finnish treats, network, ans spend a winter day together with students and companies. At the Winter Mayhem, you can stroll around the stalls outside in the courtyard area on the Teiskontie side, similar to a Christmas Market.
The event is organised by VETO students and it is organized at the same time as TAMK's annual recruitment event (Gateway to Working Life) on January 20th, 2026.
The event is open and free for everyone, not just students. Welcome!
